6th Grade Graduation

Tessa had her 6th Grade Graduation last week.

The kids sang Lean on Me/Don't Stop Believing and then Mrs. Plank spoke.
They showed a slideshow from the year's activities, and a side-by-side of each of the kids with their kindergarten picture next to their 6th grade picture.
They handed out their certificates, and then the kids sang Go the Distance.
It was a great program, and it was fun to celebrate Tessa.
What a beauty she is!!
They did a 6th Grade Clapout on the last day of school.
The students all lined the halls while the 6th graders left the school, and then all the parents were outside cheering them as they exited.
Alyssa, Emily, Tessa, and Evie came out holding hands. It was pretty cute.
Tessa really enjoyed having Mr. Welch as a teacher.
Damon ran up and hugged Tessa when the rest of the school came out. He told me he's really sad that Tessa won't be at school with him for the next two years.
The girls were sad to say goodbye to each other. (Even though I'm sure they'll hang out during the summer. Haha)
They decided to all walk each other home.

May Madness

Damon had his 4th Grade program. Their theme was Utah. Damon knew all the songs and was so cute when they got to dance in one of them.
Mrs. Vest always does a fantastic job with their programs!
They had a Chalk Walk and Tessa and Damon loved that!
6th grade did a Medieval Fair. Tessa and her friends were bakers.
Damon's class did a Reader's Theatre. Damon was the narrator for his group. They did a great job!
Rockwell received his certificate for the High Honor Roll. He had some challenging classes this year. He took AP Human Geography and the accelerated math class. Both are tough classes and he learned a lot. Well done Rockwell!
Northridge had their dance festival. That's really fun to watch.
Damon and Tessa both made it onto their class's Field Day relay team. Damon was the anchor, but Jack and Rome had a comically-bad handoff with the baton, and so by the time Rome passed it off to Damon, the other team was already finished running. Darn it.
Tessa ran great. Their race was pretty close, but they came in 2nd.
Damon went with blue hair for crazy hair day.
Damon was voted by his class as 'Most likely to be a stand-up comedian.' I think he'd be great at that! :)
Tessa walked to the Lindon Temple with her Young Women class. They drew the temple and wrote down their feelings while being there. It's so cool to have a temple so close to our house!

Volleyball Championships

The Pandas won their playoff game and moved on to the championship game! Damon had such a great game at playoffs. He returned the final point that won the game for them. It was awesome!

The championship game was at Mountain View High School. They played well, but lost in two sets.
They took home the silver medals. That was really exciting considering the team didn't win a single set last season!
Way to go on another great season of volleyball Damon! We love watching you play!

Utah State Track Meet

Rockwell has said all season that it would be so cool to qualify for State as a freshman. He accomplished his goal and loves to have the shirt to prove it. :) The coaches did a bbq at Jody's house for everyone who qualified, and Rockwell really enjoyed that.

The State Meet is held at BYU and I could just sit and enjoy that view all day long!
The 4x800 relay was on Friday. Timpanogos went in ranked 13th, and they were in the first of two heats.

Soren was first, followed by Joel, then Luke, and Rockwell was the anchor.
Rockwell ran an incredible leg! His time for his split was 2:00!!! So so good!!! He was staying right with the kid from Snow Canyon on both laps, but was very frustrated that he couldn't beat him in the final stretch. Having amazing finishes is Rockwell's specialty, and he feels like asthma has taken that away from him. It always hits him right at the last 200 meters, which totally restricts him from his incredible 100m finish. It was hard for him to finish out in such a restricted, painful way. It took him some time to be able to celebrate how well he had done, and focus less on the frustration of his asthma.
They had an incredible PR! 15 seconds faster than when they qualified!! The coaches ran over, so excited for them. They watched closely as the second heat of teams ran to see where they would fall in the rankings. They finished in 7th place!!! The coaches thought they were medaling out 8 places on the podium so they were so excited, but it turns out they only did the top 3 teams for relays. Moving up from 13th place to 7th place is incredible though! Awesome job Rockwell, Soren, Joel, and Luke!!!
The 4x400 relay was on Saturday. Jody switched things up for this team. It was Brody, then Matt, then Rockwell, then Wyatt. I don't think Matt or Wyatt have ever run the 400 relay, but they did well.
They went in ranked 21 out of 21 teams, but finished in 18th place. It was a PR for their team, with a time of 3:33.38. They didn't feel nearly as much pressure on this team, they were just happy to be racing at State. Rockwell said it was fun. He ran his split in 52 seconds, and didn't have any asthma.
Congratulations on qualifying for State as a freshman Rockwell!! And for doing so so well at it too!!
