Emilie & Matt's Wedding

Emilie & Matt had their reception Thursday night in North Salt Lake. Tessa and Brylie sat at the book, and the boys helped put the presents on the gift table.

It was a beautiful reception. Paul and I got a lot of time to visit with the family and just enjoy the night.
Emilie made her own wedding cake! It was beautiful and delicious. :)
Tessa was pretty excited that she caught the bouquet.

Emilie and Matt were sealed in the Payson Temple Friday morning.
We had more time to visit with family and enjoy the beauty of the temple grounds while Cade was taking all the pictures.
The luncheon was great after the temple as well. It was a nice couple days celebrating Matt & Emilie.

Chad stayed with us for a couple days and the kids absolutely loved having him around! Paul was at work on Thursday, but the kids and I spent the day with him. I took Rockwell to a doctor appointment in the morning and came home to Tessa and Damon teaching Chad how to play Minecraft. Rockwell joined right in and they all loved that! We hiked to Upper Falls, got some lunch, and then watched Enchanted together. It was a very fun day!
(I think the sun is so cool in this picture!)
After all the wedding festivities on Friday were finished, we had some dinner and then played video games. I loved sitting down there and listening to Paul, Chad, and the kids all laughing super hard while they played. Rockwell, Tessa and Damon were all so sad when Chad left that night. They said he should stay for seventy million years! :) We'll have to convince him to come visit again soon!

Everyday Adventures

Paul got a great shot of Greenback, our favorite hummingbird.

I went to the Mat Kearney concert with Katie last week. It was super fun!

I went to Emilie's bridal shower. It was fun to celebrate her and see how much Matt's family adores her.

I had a really busy week where I was away from the family a lot, and so I tried to really give the kids my undivided attention when I was home. We played a lot of games and I watched a lot of tricks. :) I sure love my kids!

Roxanne asked Tessa if she could hire her to dog-sit her new puppy whenever she goes out of town for the day or for a trip. Tessa for sure would have done this for free, so it was an easy yes to getting paid to do something she loves!! Sadie is so stinking cute and we've all loved playing with her. Roxanne brings Sadie out to play with Tessa about once a day so she can get to know her before being in charge of taking care of her. It's Tessa's favorite part of the day!

Penguin Encounter

We took the kids to the Penguin Encounter at the Aquarium last week. Paul booked our tickets at the beginning of summer, and we have been keeping it secret from the kids for a couple months now. We knew they would be so excited that it would be a constant question of how many more days until they could meet the penguins. :) It was so fun to finally tell them about it a few days before and see that they really were just as excited as we thought they would be! Rockwell has absolutely loved penguins for years and years. He said, "Mom! Both of our dreams are going to come true. I get to meet penguins, and I want you to take as many pictures as you can!" I thought that was so cute.

The encounter is for up to 10 people, and we know that Wyatt also loves penguins and so we invited the Loosli's to come too. We got to learn a few things about penguins and get our coats on before going into the room where the penguins were. Once we were all sitting down, the worker opened the door to the penguin habitat and they all came marching in.
We each had a bowl with 5 fish in it, and the penguins definitely knew what to expect. They swarmed right up to us and opened their mouths for the fish. :) The penguins don't like to be touched, and so I was glad I wore shorts. They press right up on your legs as they're trying to get a fish and so I could feel their feathers on my legs.
Once they were certain that nobody had any fish left, the penguins would wander back and forth between the room we were in and their habitat.
This is Uno. He is the only penguin that has been raised by humans. He stayed in the room with us the whole time. It was fun to watch him stretch, scratch, and just chill with us. :)
Milo loved to play with these cubes and was in the room with us a lot of the time too.
It was seriously so cool to get to feed the penguins and watch them play and run around. They were adorable!

We spent a few hours seeing the rest of the aquarium before the Penguin Encounter. It's a pretty cool place!
