Summer Week 11

The kids and I went on a bike ride Sunday night. We went over to the church to ride around the parking lot. The afternoons are still unbearably hot to be outside, so we try to get outside while it's pleasant in the mornings and evenings.
The kids have missed using the hot tub while it's been so hot. They went out and sat in it a couple mornings this week right after breakfast, so it was pretty cool outside.
If they want to be outside during the day, they play in water.
Tessa washed all of the bikes. :) I remember doing that as a kid.

The U12 Provo Fury team needed a few more boys for a scrimmage they were playing in Spanish Fork Tuesday night. Rockwell, Nico, and Ollie filled in so they had enough boys to play. Rockwell played awesome defense, and the team won 9-3. But man, Rock was ready for the game to be over. Those U12 coaches just scream at their players through the entire game. It was really frustrating. He left with an increased appreciation for his coaches, Landon, Matt and Kyle!!

I took the kids up to Big Springs Park again this week. I wanted to hike further up the trail and see if it leads anywhere cool.
We made it a bit further, but it was really hot and the kids just wanted to go play in the water. So we headed back down and played in the stream for a while.
Rockwell and Tessa brought their slingshots. I love how they both stick their tongues out while shooting it!

Paul and I went to a Concealed Carry Permit class Saturday morning. It was at the drive-in theatre at the Water Gardens. The instructor stood in the back of his truck and we listened over our car radios, so we could be socially distanced.
It was interesting at times, and boring at times. But it was fun to hang out with Paul for 4 hours and crack jokes that nobody else could hear. :)

We're all loving the hammock still, and love to see our hummingbirds every day. They're just so cute!

  1. I'm glad the children are figuring out ways to beat the heat and using lots of water to do it! Mornings and evenings are the only times to be outside. Are you and Paul going to get a permit to carry a gun? I'm glad you got to spend 4 hours together! Great pictures!
