More Track Meets

Rockwell had another track meet at Timpanogos. He had slept in that day and spent a couple hours in Paul's library for Career Day.

He felt sluggish, I think from being off his routine, and didn't have his best meet ever. His first race was the 1600m, and he finished in 5.38 (5th place). Paul and I thought it was great, but Rockwell was frustrated with being slower than the previous meet. He ran the 800m next and finished in 2.45 (4th place). And then he went right to the 400m and finished in 1.00.75 (1st place).

I think a 1st place finish lifted his spirits a little, but he was still frustrated that it was a slower time than last meet.
The last event was the 4x400 relay. Their team finished in 4.29 (1st place), but again, slower than the previous meets. It seemed like they all maybe felt a little sluggish that day. But some days are just like that.

The next meet was at American Heritage. His first race was the 1600m and he had his best PR of the season. He ran it in 5.16.31 (3rd place)!!! He was thrilled with that time! Next up was the 400m and he took 1st again with 59.4 seconds.
Then he did the 200m and PR-ed with 26.9 seconds (3rd place).
Last was the 4x400 relay and his team PR-ed on this one too with 4.08 (1st place).
Rockwell ran his lap in 58.98!!!!!! It was insane!!
These boys are such good kids. I love that Rockwell has a team that he loves.
