School's Out For The Summer!!

Tessa's first and last day of Kindergarten:

Rockwell's first and last day of 3rd Grade:

The kids were excited for summer break! As soon as school was out on the last day, we drove up to Thanksgiving Point to meet Grandma Clark and Carrie. Grandma is able to get the whole family into all the activities there with her Grandma Pass. It was a fun-filled day for sure! We started with the Butterfly Biosphere.

They had fun seeing all the bugs and insects, and playing on the slide and activities.

Then we went into the butterfly house.

There were beautiful butterflies everywhere. Everyone wanted one of them to land on us, but it sure was hard to hold still long enough. :)

Next, we ate some lunch and then headed to the Farm. The kids loved petting the rabbits, seeing all the baby animals, and giving funny names to all the animals they saw. Hayden and Rockwell named this chicken with a blonde mullet Mr. Harry Potter.

Their favorite part was the pony rides!

We got to take a tractor ride too.

After the farm, we headed over to the Dinosaur Museum. The kids seriously loved all this time with their cousins!

They all had a lot of fun playing with the dinosaurs in the sand and water.

The digging sandboxes at the end are always a favorite too.

Our last stop was the Museum of Curiosity. I didn't get many pictures there, but they had a blast running through all the ropes course and slides, trying to figure their way through a maze, and playing on the playground outside.

I don't think there could have been a more fun start to summer! Thanks for such a fun day Grandma Clark!!!

Memorial Day Weekend

Matt and Lori came to town for Memorial Day weekend so they could drop Cody off at EFY at BYU. It's always great to see them! We all went to see Aladdin on Saturday. Rockwell and I really liked it. Paul stayed home with Tessa and Damon since it was a little scary for them. Ron, Diane, and Jason were in town too, so we had a Hawkins family dinner at The Pie.
It was fun to see aunts, uncles, and cousins that I don't see very often.

We also did a bbq on Memorial Day. Elena taught Damon how to play Hands Up Stands Up. He is very proud of himself!

Matt flew back home to work, but Elena and Lori stayed in Utah the rest of the week. Lori spent a few days with her family, and then came back to pick Cody up. I was able to meet her and Al at South Fork Friday afternoon for a couple hours. We weren't sure what it would be like with all the rain and snow we've gotten this year, but it was totally fine. The kids loved playing in the river, playing soccer and frisbee, and going on hikes with Caitlyn and Elena.

Everyday Adventures

Tessa had her Kindergarten program the Friday I was at Women's Conference. I went home so I could see it, and then headed back to the conference.
The program was so cute! They sang songs, recited poems, and had a cute video of all the kids and teachers. I loved to hear them sing about their 7 Habits. And the last song they sang was so sweet, about what kids need in life.
They also announced that Mrs. Farr will be moving to a different school next year. She has been a fantastic teacher for both Tessa and Rockwell. She is very good at making each child feel loved and important, and helping them to have a positive view of school their first year there. I wish Damon could have had her too!
Grandma Ham came to watch the program with Paul, Damon, and me. Tess loved having her there!

I went to the park with a couple friends, and Damon was so excited that he's big enough to do these double bars now. He wanted a picture so he could show Tessa and Rockwell that he can do it now too.

Rockwell made a basketball box game for his class's flea market. It was really fun to play!

At Damon's soccer practice last week, there was a horse-drawn carriage driving around the park. The man said he was getting his horse ready for a city party that was happening the next day at the park. He said the kids could have a ride, and they were so excited about that!
Grandpa Ham came to watch Damon's 2nd soccer game. He played great again. The other team was pretty good, but Damon got right in the action and scored four goals (and one for the other team. Whoops! :). Right before the whistle blew for the end of the game, Damon ran right in front of a kid who was about to score for the other team and kicked the ball out of bounds. It was a great defensive play!

I love to sit out on our rocking chairs and read until it's too dark to see the pages.

Damon's had a lot of fun with the water balloons he got for his birthday. The kids have played out in the water for a few days straight since the weather has been so nice.
I had to take some pictures of Tess in her cute sun hat we found at Dollar Tree.
