St George Gymnastics Meet

 Tessa had her first competitive gymnastics meet in St George Friday night.

The kids had the day off school on Friday, so it was nice that we could head down there with plenty of time to check in to our apartment, eat some dinner, and do Tessa's hair for the meet. There were teams from all over Utah and one from Wyoming, and it was fun to see the routines that each of the other gyms had come up with. Tess did a great job on her routines, and we all enjoyed watching her!

We had seats right in front of the beam, so we got a great view of that. She was so close to sticking her cartwheel! I could see a lot of improvement from their practice meet a few weeks ago. Great job Tessa! She scored a 9.075 on beam.

We didn't have a great view of the floor, but from what we could see she did great. :) She scored a 9.35 on floor. 

She had her high score on bars, at 9.6!!! It was awesome!

And she scored a 9.2 on vault. She had a solid night, and we're so proud of her!

We had no idea how they do the awards ceremony at these meets, but we learned that the girls are split into sub-levels within Level 3. I'm not clear on how the sub-levels are determined, but I would guess it has something to do with age. Each sub-level got medals for each event, plus the all-around. Tessa got 5th place on beam, and 3rd place on floor, vault, and bars.

I love love love this picture! Tessa and Morgan were so excited for Lena earning 1st place on 3 events!! The girls were all so happy for each other and supported and cheered for each other the whole night. I love that!

Tessa's scores earned her 2nd place in the all-around, which totals up the scores from all 4 events. She was thrilled with that!!

It was fun to see these cuties so proud of themselves! They work hard every week and they had so much fun performing the routines they've been practicing.

The meet had such a fun energy, and Tessa said it was the best weekend ever!

Her brothers were so sweet and kept telling her what a great job she did.

Rosalind & The Auntie Van

 Julie and Lindy were planning on coming to Provo on Tuesday to get Lindy settled at BYU. She texted us on Monday to tell us that Al had convinced her to drive up to Rexburg soon after they landed to go see Rosalind. Al found a great Airbnb house that they would stay in, and then drive back to Utah Wednesday in time for the play we had tickets for. They asked if anyone else wanted to go, and so Grandma, Mel and I quickly arranged things so we could join in the fun. Then Monday afternoon, Julie's flight was canceled due to a small airplane crash at the Provo Airport. They decided to fly into Idaho Falls instead, but the only flight didn't land until 9:45 Tuesday night. Grandma, Mel, Al, and I still drove up to Rexburg Tuesday afternoon and were able to go to Caleb & Johanna's apartment that evening. They were so cute, and wanted to see all of our faces when we first saw Rosalind. Poor Johanna had a rough delivery and isn't able to get out of bed yet, so her mom positioned us right outside her bedroom door so she could watch us as we saw her for the first time.

She is beautiful and so tiny and absolutely precious!!

It is instant love meeting her! We all took a couple turns holding her and enjoyed visiting with Caleb, Johanna, and her parents. It was really cute to see Caleb and Johanna so smitten with their daughter. 

Julie & Lindy's flight was delayed a couple hours, so we went back to our house and hung out for a while. The house was awesome, and I loved the Harry Potter room under the stairs. :)

Each room had a theme and was decorated so cute, and there was a game room and a movie room. Mel made us fresh popcorn. :)

Al & I drove out to Idaho Falls and picked Lindy & Julie up late that night and it was great to get some time to visit with them and hear a little about Lindy's mission. They went over to Caleb & Johanna's in the morning and got some time with them. Gary & Julie are so excited to be grandparents!

And Lindy is excited to be an aunt! We had made so many jokes about all of us driving up in the Auntie Van, and we were so happy to welcome Lindy into the Auntie Van club!! Seriously, being an aunt is the best!

Julie texted a little bit before it was time to head back to Utah and said we were welcome to come and say our goodbyes to Rosalind. We checked out of our house and headed back over. It was great to be able to see her once more. She's just so sweet!!

We made it back to Salt Lake in time to meet Kyle for dinner and then make it to Hale to see The Little Mermaid. I absolutely loved this play!! I wasn't expecting to love it so much, but it was incredible.

We had to get a picture of all the aunties and the Auntie Van before the night was over. :) 

We went to Guru's for lunch the next day, and the BYU Creamery, and helped Lindy move into her apartment, and then hung out at Al's house that night. It was a whirlwind few days, but so much fun!! I always love when Julie comes to town, and I'm so excited to have Lindy back at BYU so we can see more of her. 

Christmas Break Week 2

 The Cheney's came over for dinner Tuesday night and we were all so excited to see them again. The kids loved playing with Big Boy Asher and Baby Liam all night.

Asher has always had the best laugh, and we all loved sitting in the front room listening to him laugh and laugh playing this game with Paul and Damon. So stinking cute!

I took the kids to see Puss in Boots at the Water Gardens. The kids liked it a lot, and I got a nice little nap. :)

We went and hung out with Katie and Audrey and their kids. It feels like it's been a while since we've seen them, so it was great to be together again.

I took Rockwell to do baptisms at the Provo City Center Temple. Then we went and wandered Barnes & Noble and spent one of my gift cards. :) It was a fun morning!

Paul organized and cleaned out our coupon drawer, so we've been using a lot of coupons over the break. We went to lunch at Brick Oven since the kids all had a free meal there. It was delicious!

We went to Paul's school so he could work on a couple things, and so the kids could ride their rollerblades and Heely's. It was a great way for them to get some energy out!

Rockwell gave me some yummy Harry Potter treats for Christmas. We've been watching those movies with him lately, and it was fun to eat a Chocolate Frog and some Butter Beer chews while we watched.

It's been very rainy this week, so we've tried to find things to do indoors. We went to Classic Skating on Friday...and so did everyone else in Utah County. :) It was packed, but the kids didn't seem to mind. Damon tried rollerblading for a little bit, and then switched to a scooter. He thought the blackout, with strobe lights and fog was the absolute coolest thing ever!! It was adorable.

We watched the Michigan football game on New Year's Eve. It was stressful, and they ended up losing the game. We were tense and frustrated, so it was really nice to get some good news as soon as the game ended. Johanna & Caleb had their baby!! We're all so excited that Rosalind Anne Ham is here and healthy! Now I can't wait to meet her in person. :)

We went to Grandma & Grandpa Ham's house to play some games that night. It was really fun! We didn't want to stay up until midnight, but we wanted to celebrate the New Year in some way, so this was perfect.
