School Week 30

Rockwell had his first soccer games for the season this week.  It has been so fun to watch him play. I always love watching his games. Even though the game on Tuesday night was the coldest, most miserable weather to be outside in! The boys didn't come close to warming up even though they were running for over an hour straight. It was so windy and so cold! But his team played great and took home a win that night.

The only thing that was not covered up on me was my eyes, so I could still watch the game. :)

The weather on Saturday was much more pleasant! They played great again, but ended up losing by one point. It's been awesome to see his team grow together and improve a lot over the seasons.
And they love having Kyle as their coach!

Damon thought he was so funny making this sign for himself that says "I am the boss."  He also made some for Paul and me that say "I am not the boss." :)

Watch out for these two!!

Paul has been working like crazy in real estate lately. This meme sums up the Utah market very well right now! :)
It is so difficult to get a house because there are about 30+ offers on every house for sale, and you have to have about $30,000 - $50,000 cash to offer on top of the asking price. Every house is sold within a couple days. It's nuts. Paul has learned quickly, been able to teach his clients about the market, and knows how to write strong offers that are being accepted. Another agent sent him this email last night, and I love that she took the time to spell it all out to Paul. He really is an amazing agent!

Congratulations!! Our clients have accepted your offer!!!

We had received multiple offers, even one for $605,000, but decided to go with yours because it overall was the best! Please tell clients I've seen many offers but yours was the best. My clients liked the assurance of funds over appraisal if necessary, the EM going non refundable immediately and the $2,500 towards their closing costs from First Colony. But what really made the difference is having your lender there to assure us you are well qualified. That you communicated so well, how much you love the home, spending the time yesterday watching your client's enthusiasm! Then writing an offer immediately and aggressively. All of these things put you as the offer to beat. It made the contingency worth risking and quite frankly, if someone had asked me yesterday if a contingency had a chance in a multiple offer situation with other strong offers I would have lost  money betting against it. Well done! I hope they realize how fortunate they are to have one of the best realtors working for them! Especially, in this market, it is the difference between getting their forever home instead of an email stating we went with another offer.

Damon took a turn reading the scriptures during our Family Night this week. He read four verses like a champ! We were all so impressed with how well he's reading now. We're so proud of all the hard work you have put into learning to read Damon Boy!!

We went to Grandma and Grandpa Ham's house for an Easter celebration on Sunday. The kids loved the egg hunt!!
This morning before Tessa left for school she showed me this note that she was putting in Damon's room. They like to use Damon's remote control car to deliver notes to each other during quiet time on Sundays. She kept one of the notes that Damon sent her that said 'I luf you Tessa!' She thought that was cute and spelled love the same way he did. As she was leaving for school she told Damon that someone left something for him in his room and he should go check it out. He was so excited to find the note and one of the dollars that Tessa got from the egg hunt yesterday. That was so sweet of Tessa! She has always been so generous and thoughtful like that.
Damon went right to his basket and put all of his jelly beans into a bag, wrote a note for Rockwell, and went and put them in Rockwell's room for him to find when he got home from school. I love that he wanted to pay it forward. :) So sweet!

School Week 29

We had Monday off school for a professional development day. The weather was awesome and so we played outside.

Damon was so cute watching Rockwell and Dad play basketball. He said he would give a treat to anyone who made a basket. He ran inside every time they made a shot and gave them so many of his own treats.
Tessa caught bugs and made a home for them in her bug catcher.
The boys and I played soccer while Paul trimmed the bushes in the front yard.
We went and saw Raya and The Last Dragon, and then played outside some more after that. It was a fun day!

Rockwell brought home the spoon he made in Art Club. It looks great!

Hayden had a hockey game in Provo bright and early Friday morning, so he and Carrie came and spent the night at our house Thursday night. Rockwell was so excited to have Hayden here and get to spend some time with him. It was fun to hear them laughing in the basement all night.

School Week 28

We finally finished this puzzle. It was the most challenging puzzle we've ever done, and it took months to complete. It felt so good to accomplish it though!

We got to play with Al and Hallee and Wyatt a few times this week. When Tessa saw that Hallee was wearing this shirt, she ran upstairs and put her matching shirt on. :)

Rockwell's soccer season has started with practices a couple times a week. Tessa has started gymnastics classes at a gym, and she has dance class still. All three of those activities happen on Thursdays, and so I am driving from one thing to the next all afternoon and evening. I pick the boys up from home while Tessa is in dance, and then we pick her up and go straight to drop Rockwell off at soccer practice. We had a few minutes of waiting at dance and Rockwell had fun entertaining himself by tickling Damon. I loved to hear them laughing together. :)

Tessa had an assignment to cook something and then make a poster writing the sequential steps of making the food. We all liked that assignment since she chose pumpkin chocolate chip muffins. Yum! Her face cracks me up in the picture. She had a hard time getting the measuring cup to get deep enough in the sugar. :)

School Weeks 25-27

I've gotten behind with blogging, so here are some quick highlights from the last few weeks.

We got a new picture and video of Fahima. That's always so fun! Oh we just love her!!

Tanner had a few hockey games in Provo so we got to go watch those. He's a great player! It was fun to see him play. He's in the gray, going for the puck.

On President's Day we got in the hot tub in the snow, and then went to Leatherby's. That was a fun day.

We had the February birthday celebration with the Ham Fam. Rockwell LOVES his penguin blanket!

We made another bird feeder and hung it on the fence in the backyard so we would be able to watch the birds from our windows. It's been fun to see so many different kinds of birds out there.
We had a good laugh pretending to know what all these quail were saying while they waited in line for their turn to eat. :)

Our kids had Friday off school and so we went and played at Katie's house for a while and then went to a park near their house. It was a really fun park, and the weather was perfect. We are loving the warmer weather and sunshine!

The kids and I sat in the hot tub while Paul was working yesterday. Tessa thought she was so funny stealing my drink. :)

Zion National Park

We spent the weekend in Zion's with Grandma and Gramps for the race. We met up in Beaver to have dinner at The Creamery on Friday.

The kids thought the hotel was so fun. It was a really nice hotel. Thanks again Grandma and Gramps!
The view from our balcony was beautiful.
There was a pool table in the lobby and Rockwell and I got to play a few games Saturday night.
After the race we went to lunch at Oscar's. The food was delicious, but there were a ton of birds flying around the outdoor part of the restaurant. One of them pooped on Damon's activity sheet and on his fork. After that, the kids had a hard time not worrying about the birds above their heads. :)
We went to a Rock and Gem Shop after lunch. Grandma told Rockwell he could choose rocks that he wanted for his birthday present (and bought a few things for Tessa and Damon too). Rockwell thought that was as good as Christmas morning! He loved searching for and weighing out the rocks that he wanted. He got some pretty cool ones!
We went into the Park on Sunday and hiked to Lower Emerald Pool. This was my first time to Zion's and I thought it was beautiful!
Lower Emerald Pool was pretty. It was cool to walk behind the waterfall.
It was great to spend the weekend with Grandma and Gramps, and to see Paul and Brent accomplish something really difficult!
