Bear Lake

We went to the lake Friday morning. It was pretty crowded, but we were able to find a spot big enough for all of us. Everyone had fun playing with the football, spikeball, and timber toss.

The lake wasn't too cold, so the kids had fun swimming in it. The water was shallow for a long time, which made it great for kids.
We had a lot of fun visiting on the beach, playing games, and cooling off in the water.
Al brought sand toys and the kids all had a blast with those.
It was really cute to see so many of the cousins all working together to build a water village.
We stopped for shakes at La Beau's on the way home from the lake. It was a really fun day!

Ham Fam Reunion

We spent last weekend in Bear Lake at the Ham Fam Reunion.

Grandma & Grandpa rented a really nice, big cabin for us all to stay at from Thursday to Monday. Everyone loved playing pool, ping pong, basketball, foosball, and sitting in the hot tub.

We had a lot of fun playing card games too. I love how sweet everyone is to Damon. He's younger than all the other cousins, but he always found someone to play with. His cousins always let him join in the games and included him all weekend. I sure appreciate that about our family!
Grandma played the candy bar game with all the grandkids. They loved that!
The views from the deck were beautiful. We all loved to look out at the lake, the sunrises, sunsets, and all the wildlife around the cabin. We got to see a lot of deer, wild turkeys, and even a moose right out in the yard.
It was great to have so much time to visit with everyone. I loved talking and laughing with whoever I sat by at meals and whoever was out on the deck or the couch at the same time I was. Thanks so much for a great weekend Mom & Dad! We all loved it!

Cascade Springs

We spent a morning at Cascade Springs last week.

It's a cool place in Midway with trails and boardwalks that surround ponds, springs, and waterfalls.
There were beautiful flowers everywhere and lots of butterflies and birds. Sadly we didn't see any of the fish though.
We got lunch in Heber on our way home. It was a really fun morning exploring a new place and spending time as a family.

Red Pine Lake

Mel and I hiked to Red Pine Lake a couple weeks ago. Gloria Falls is just a small detour off the trail to Red Pine Lake, and so she showed me how to find it. It was beautiful! That's the waterfall that we had tried to find a while ago and couldn't, so I was glad I could finally see it. Ha! :)

This hike was gorgeous the whole way!
Mel was talking about her renewed love of hiking she's had lately as her and Ataiya have been hiking together a lot. She said there are things that you can only see if you hike to them, and that's something she loves about it. That's such a good description of one of the rewards of hiking. There is so much beauty out there, and I love being able to see it.
We made it to the lake and it was beautiful!
We both would have loved to stay and enjoy the view, but the bugs were insane by the water. They were swarming us and it was unbearable, so we didn't stay long before heading back down.

It was so great to hike with Mel and have a few hours to visit with her. Thanks for the fun morning Mel!!
