Dad's Birthday

 Dad turned 42!!

One of his presents was delivered while he was at work that morning:

Yes, that's a pile of dirt. :) He's been very excited to spread the dirt to help level the lawn, and to work on it by himself, uninterrupted. The next morning when he turned on his truck and the headlights spread over his pile of dirt, the song on the radio was "Buy Dirt" by Luke Bryan. He felt very seen and understood in that moment. Haha! :)

I got to go take him some lunch and spend a little time with him that day.

He opened his presents when he got home from school, and then I made some tacos for dinner.

I thought he could use a new BYU shirt since he was going to the BYU/Notre Dame game that week.

We are really enjoying playing pickleball these days, so I got him a set.

Paul drove out to Las Vegas the next day to have a friend's weekend. He met up with Tyler, Marcus, and Bryt. BYU was playing Notre Dame at the Allegiant Stadium, and they got amazing seats for it.

It was a frustrating game for BYU fans, but Paul enjoyed the weekend still. They got to eat some good food and catch up and visit together. They all served in Ukraine together, and have stayed friends ever since.
