Everyday Adventures

Rockwell's happy to be finished mowing lawns for the season. Each year he starts out excited about it, and by October he's ready to be done. It takes a lot of time each week, and when school's in it's harder for him because most of his Saturday is spent mowing. It's such a great summer job for him, but it gets hard during the school year.

He sure does love having the money it brings in though. He decided to buy a Gabb phone before school started. He paid for the phone and the accessories, and we agreed to pay the monthly bill. He made a presentation about why he is ready for a phone, how he'll take care of it, and what his consequences will be if he doesn't follow the rules and expectations. He convinced us!
It's been really nice that he has it! I love being able to get ahold of him when he's out with his friends. And we both love that he can arrange plans with his friends himself instead of the moms doing it. Gabb has been so great without any internet or social media!

Tessa's been able to spend a few Saturdays at Hallee's house lately. She loves loves loves it there!

Paul and I went out to dinner at Milagros.
Their chairs are low to the ground, and the chair I sat in was broken and so it was extra low. I felt like a child with my head just above the table. Haha! We had a good laugh about it all night.

Our neighbor Carol moved out of Roxanne's basement. She hired Tessa and Damon to come clean out her entryway before the open house. They did great work and she paid them generously.
I love the opportunities to work that our neighbors give our kids. Quincy did a major trimming on all the trees and bushes in her yard, and hired Damon to come help pick up all the trimmings and get them in her van and garbage cans.

Rockwell enjoyed Spirit Week at school. One day was Anything But a Backpack day, and he wanted to do a hobo stick. :)

We went up to South Fork with Katie & Ben and Al & Hallee. The kids had a blast with the fort they found, and working to build it up even more.
They found a table to put all their supplies on. It really is kid heaven up there!
