Kaua'i Day 2

We headed straight to Hanalei Bay Thursday morning. :)

We were all wanting to jump off the pier again, but the waves were much bigger than we've ever seen in the bay. It didn't seem safe to jump off with the size of the waves, but we had a great time boogie boarding on the bigger waves.
Paul and Rockwell passed the football, we played in the sand, and just loved being in Hanalei.
It started raining after a few hours so we headed home for some lunch. The rain continued most the afternoon, but luckily the kids don't mind swimming in the rain, and Paul and I don't mind the hot tub in the rain. :)
We went back to Hanalei for dinner and decided to try Hanalei Gourmet. The mountains behind Hanalei were full of waterfalls with all the afternoon rain. It was gorgeous!
Paul loves a good Loco Moco plate!
Earlier in the day we had stopped in town to use the bathrooms and Tessa saw an outfit outside one of the shops. She wanted to buy it right then and there, but it was quite expensive, so I told her to think on it for a few hours at least, knowing we would be coming back for dinner later. As soon as we were finished with dinner she asked if she could go buy the outfit. She definitely still wanted it. :) Tessa and I were the only ones in the shop for a while when she was trying it on, so we got some time to talk to the lady working there. When she rang the outfit up, she put in her employee discount and told Tessa that she feels pretty positive that Tessa will come live on Kaua'i one day and will be part of the community so she might as well get a "locals" discount. Haha. Tessa said that sounded like a great plan, and thanked her for the discount. :)
Tessa was so excited to get home and put on her new Hawaiian outfit.
After some JoJo's shave ice of course! :)

  1. I love all the pictures, you can tell you are all in your happy place. That is so sweet that the lady gave Tessa a discount.
