Family Trip to Kauai!!! (Day 1)

We have been dying to get back to Kauai, and the day finally came!! Tessa, Damon and I were on the very last row of the plane, and although at times it was stinky being that close to the bathroom, it was actually very nice to be able to stand up and stretch my legs for long periods of time without bothering anyone.

We were so excited to get there!
We landed in the evening and so we just did a little grocery shopping, checked into Bali Hai, and then went to bed for the night. Tessa was excited to catch a tiny little lizard in our living room the next morning.
The kids were excited to have "fancy juice" in fancy glasses for breakfast.
Paul had quite a few real estate deals go under contract in the two days before we left for Kauai. We're grateful for the business for sure, but it made it so Paul had to work a lot more than he was wanting to on vacation. I took the kids to the pool that morning.
And Paul spent the morning working on the lanai.
I love the grounds of Bali Hai, it's so beautiful everywhere you look.
The roosters kept Paul company while he worked. :)
The kids had so much fun at the pool!
They made up all sorts of games with the football.
A mom came over and asked if her kids could borrow one of our footballs. She asked if Rockwell, Tessa, and Damon were siblings and when I said yes, she said, "Wow! They're having so much fun together." I told her it doesn't always go like that, but I was sure enjoying it!! I love love love watching my kids laugh together and enjoy each other's company! These family trips are so good for their relationships.
Paul and I went and rented our chairs, umbrellas, and boogie boards, and got all packed up to go to Hanalei Bay. Yay!!
My favorite view!!
We ate lunch at Chicken In A Barrel. We call it Chicken in a Biscuit because cute little Damon called it that years ago. :)
Whenever we eat there, Damon warns the chickens to run away and save themselves. Haha!
After we swam for a while and played football in the water, we headed over to the pier. It's so fun to jump off!
It was crowded that day, so it was harder to get good pictures. Paul and Tessa did an awesome matching toe-touch jump, but you can't really see Paul in the picture.
I love the view off this side of the pier!!!
We got some JoJo's Shave Ice on the way home. We've all been craving those for a long time!
Rockwell cut up a dragonfruit for us to try with dinner. It wasn't super flavorful, but it's always fun to try new fruits.
I love watching the sun set on the lanai.
The kids ate popcorn in bed while watching tv. Vacation life is the best! :)
