The coaches decided to rest the Varsity boys already, so Rockwell ran the Varsity race in Spanish Fork. This race was enormous! It was super crowded.
He looked good and finished strong. Emilie and Matt came to watch him and it was fun to have them there.
He finished 95th with a time of 17:15.3.
Next up was the Timpanogos Invitational. THS hosts this one so I helped out at the finish line. I learned that I want to volunteer for a different location next time. Haha. There is a lot of throw up, sweat, and blood at the finish line. Gross.
Rockwell looked strong from the very beginning on this race.
He and two Orem boys were out front almost the whole time.
Jody picks the music and he played Eye of the Tiger while Rockwell was running. :) He announced Rocky Barth was in the front pack as he ran past the tent and Rockwell gave him a thumbs up to let coach know he was feeling good.
He picked it up at the end and was able to pass the Orem boys.
He finished 2nd with a time of 17:13.1.
He was so excited to get his Top Finisher shirt!
That is awesome! Way to go Rockwell. He is amazing.
