Thursday morning Rockwell and I went for a run to Queen's Bath. I could barely keep up with him, and he was just running his warm up. Haha! We got there before the gate opened, and Rockwell ran a few more miles while I just walked the neighborhood until it opened. Then we hiked down to Queen's Bath. The tide was crazy big so we didn't get in, but Rockwell thought the whole area was amazing. We explored around for a bit and enjoyed the beauty. Sadly I forgot to pack my running belt so I didn't have anywhere to keep my phone. Rockwell said he wanted to come back another day for sure and bring a phone so he could get some amazing pictures on the black rock coast.
We drove out to Tunnels Beach but there weren't any parking spots available. Tessa was so funny on the drive there. She had the window down and was trying to talk to all the people on the trails. She had us all laughing so hard.
We decided to check out Lumaha'i Beach. It usually has enormous waves, but we thought it was worth checking how they were that day.
They were still enormous. :)
It was fun to watch the giant waves though, so we hung around for a while.
I love to take pictures of the kids, it brings me joy. Paul took a picture of me "behind the scenes" of all the pictures I take and put in the blog. :)
It's a very pretty beach and there were only about two other people there, so it was fun to hang out for a while.
Rockwell wanted a really cool profile pic-type picture. He had one planned out for Queen's Bath, but I told him we should take a few here too.
I think this one's pretty cool with the wave peaking right above his head.
There's a river that runs in from the ocean. Or out to the ocean? It was very strange, but we couldn't tell which way it was going. It really seemed like it was running in from the ocean, but the water wasn't salty. Either way, it was really pretty and Damon and Tessa wanted to swim there. :)
The water was a greenish hue, but also perfectly clear. They enjoyed snorkeling and could see a lot of fish.
Rockwell and Paul hung out at the giant waves for a while longer and then came and joined us at the river.
We swam over to the rocks on the other side and "cliff jumped."
We stayed there for most the day, and it ended up being one of our favorite spots this trip!
The boys played a lot of catch with the football.
Rockwell caught Paul's pass as he was jumping off the rocks. It was very cool!!
We got Federico's for dinner.
This taco salad is my favorite food on the island!
Paul and Rockwell loved the fish tacos.
There was a parrot over by the shops. Paul went to throw something away and his head was right next to the parrot, but he didn't notice it at all. We were laughing watching him be right there and have no idea a parrot was staring at him. :)
We did some shopping and then went to North Shore Shave Ice.
Rockwell bought himself this Comfy.
Tessa bought herself a stuffed dog.
Damon was still deciding what he wanted to buy, but he wanted a picture on the porch still. You know I'm okay with that!! :)
Rockwell was living the dream eating sushi and drinking fancy juice in his Comfy that night.
There were such pretty skies each night.
I love all the pictures. Those waves are huge! It looks like you guys have the place to yourself.
