Rockwell and I went to Max's funeral. Vincent sat with us, and there were so many of Max's friends from school and church there. It was heartbreaking to see that many teenage boys crying.
We don't know why Max decided to end his life when he did, but we are sure going to miss him. Bishop Hawks and Brother Tanner both spoke and talked about how much fun Max was, his love for mountain biking, his mischievous side, and his steadiness in serving at church. Every Sunday, as soon as Sacrament Meeting was over, Max would come punch Rockwell in the arm and the two of them would go clean up the Sacrament table together. We're going to miss that, and miss Max so much.
Rockwell rode over to the cemetery with his quorum and leaders. The Millers had stickers there for people to put on Max's casket. Rockwell didn't want to go to the viewing and see Max's body, but he enjoyed putting stickers on his casket. I think it was a good way for him to interact with the casket without having to look at his body. That was very very hard for him at Drew's viewing, and he didn't want to do that again.
Max's absence will be hard for Rockwell for a long time I'm sure. We are sure grateful for our knowledge of the plan of salvation and a loving and merciful Savior and Heavenly Parents.

My heart breaks for Rockwell, and so of you. You are doing a great job of helping him through it.
