Weekend Getaway

Grandma Ham came and stayed with the kids Friday night so Paul and I could use the Anniversary Inn gift card she and my dad gave Paul for graduation. Rockwell and Tessa were so excited for Grandma to have a sleepover.
Some of Paul's real estate clients/friends gave him a gift card to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, so we went there for dinner. That place is delicious! Seriously, the best food I've ever eaten.

We went and saw Me Before You after dinner, which was really cute. It was so great to be able to talk without being interrupted, go see a late-night movie, and sleep in Saturday morning until breakfast was delivered to our room. Katie and Ben gave Paul and me passes to Provo Beach Resort for graduation, so we used those too. It was a crazy cheap weekend for us considering all that we did!
The Beach Resort was a lot of fun. We played mini bowling, croquet, arcade games, and did the ropes course. I was definitely feeling my age again, and only did a couple obstacles before I was feeling dizzy on the ropes course. Paul did the whole thing though. :)

Luckily my age didn't seem to be a problem for the indoor surfing. I had so much fun doing that.

Paul preferred boogie boarding and knee boarding.

Thank you Mom and Dad, Katie and Ben, and Marcus and Dixie for a super fun weekend getaway!!!

Ballet, Take Two

Tessa has been begging to try ballet again for the past month. She said she was ready to go in without me and without crying. So we gave it another try. She LOVED it. She didn't seem nervous at all, just ran right in, and absolutely loved it.

I'm proud of her for trying again when it was so scary for her last time. She looks absolutely adorable out there, and does really well following what the teachers are doing. She sticks with the tricky moves until she can get them down. I love to see that. The whole family went and watched for family night this week. It was really fun to watch Paul watch Tessa dance. He couldn't get over how cute she is and what she can do already.

Lagoon

Wyatt wanted to take Rockwell to Lagoon instead of a friend birthday party this year. A lot of my family was going on the 4th, so they took Rockwell that day. I decided to tag along too. :)
Some of us got the funny face memo, and some did not. :)
My goodness did Rockwell have fun with Wyatt at Lagoon! He was in heaven.
How cute are they waiting in line for the train?!
Grandma, Grandpa and I took Rockwell on a few rides that Wyatt didn't want to go on.
You can't see Rockwell in this picture, but Grandpa took him on Puff. And Grandma took him on the bigger swings.
Grandma and Grandpa stayed with Wyatt, Rockwell, and Hallee for a while so Al and I could ride some rides too. Wicked is always fun, and I got to try Cannibal. I made the mistake of riding the Screamer backward like I did as a teenager. I am not a teenager anymore! I felt quite sick after that.
It was a very hot day, and Al and I finally decided to go to Lagoon-A-Beach. Now that was a good decision! We felt so much better after cooling off. Katie and Ben were there that day too, and we met up with them in the water park. The boys were so excited to see Boston. Also, is Hallee not just the cutest?!
We headed out for more rides after swimming.
Rockwell got pretty brave toward the end of the night and tried the white wooden rollercoaster. He looks pretty nervous in this picture, but I think he had fun on it. I told him I would ride one more ride with him after Al's family left and he chose the sky ride. We got to see a lot of fireworks on that. It was a very fun day with Rockwell and my family.

Stadium of Fire

Saturday night Paul and I went to Stadium of Fire with Al & Keith and Katie & Ben. Matt and Lori were there too, but we didn't get to sit by them.

I love events focusing on patriotism and this great country we live in. The program is broadcast to troops around the world. I'm glad the soldiers can see the support, respect and appreciation us citizens have for them.
Tim McGraw was there this year. I have wanted to see a Tim concert since junior high. It was SO good! He is my all-time favorite artist, and he did not disappoint.

There was a great firework show after the concert. It was a super fun night.

We had our 4th of July bbq at Grandma and Grandpa Ham's on Sunday. Rockwell and Tessa held hands while Tessa fell asleep on the drive up there. My heart melted to turn around and see that!
Rockwell watched the big boys playing basketball for a while after dinner. He told me he really wanted to play too, but was a little nervous to ask. After a few minutes he worked up the courage, and of course they let him and Wyatt play. Rock has some awesome cousins to look up to. It was so cute to watch him. He took it pretty serious and had so much fun playing.
Tessa had fun with an app on Matt's phone where it makes funny faces.

Desolation Lake Hike

Matt and Lori came to town for the 4th of July weekend. It was a weekend jam-packed with fun stuff.  My dad, Matt and I started it out with a 12-mile hike Saturday morning.
We started in Milcreek Canyon, hiked into Big Cottonwood Canyon and then hiked back into Milcreek Canyon. We stopped at Desolation Lake, which was beautiful.
I just love hiking and being in Utah mountains. I love the peace, the space, and the quiet. It was so fun to spend that kind of quality time with Matt and Dad.
