Funny Funny Kids

My kids crack me up. I absolutely love each of their personalities. I have written down a few things over the past year so I wouldn't forget them (Most of them are from last summer/fall). Now that I blog, I thought I would put them on here:

Rockwell
***Rockwell has been motivated to eat for a few months (July 2014) by the idea of "getting big like Daddy." He really didn't want to eat his breakfast the other morning, but I told him he needed to eat it all. I didn't mention anything about getting big, but after looking at his food for a minute he said, "I'm big enough."
***If you ask Rockwell how you get big muscles he will quickly respond, "Eat, exercise, sleep!"
***We were watching home movies one night and Rockwell asked where Tessa was. I told him she wasn't born yet, I think she was in my tummy still. He said, "Oh, you hadn't spit her out yet?"
***Wyatt taught Rockwell how to pee in the backyard. After seeing this, I asked Rockwell about it when we were home. I asked if he and Wyatt pee on his grass. He said, "No Mom. (like 'Duh, of course not!') We pee under the deck!"
***When Rockwell is scared of something he says, "I'm scary."
***I took the kids downtown with Al, Audrey, Katie, and all their kids. Rockwell fell in a fountain on Temple Square.
***Instead of 'girls' Rockwell says 'grills.' He calls Tessa 'baby grill.'
***Rockwell wanted me to stay in the bathroom with him, so I sat on the tub while he took care of business. He did a big, airy toot and asked me if I heard the air come out of his bum. I said yes. He said, "It's like a volcano!" while making explosion motions with his hands.
***I squeezed Rockwell really hard in a hug and he said, "Uhh Mom! You're breaking my heart!"
***Rockwell has started praying by himself. He was saying the family prayer before bed, and he prayed that the new baby (Damon) will have tiny baby muscles.
***We were talking to Rockwell about kindergarten and he asked what his principal's name is. Paul said Mr. Woodhouse. Rockwell started laughing and said, "Is he a pig?!" He followed with, "Guys! I'm joking. Like the 3 Little Pigs...a house made of wood..."
***Rockwell, Paul and I were watching America's Funniest Videos after Tessa had gone to bed. Rockwell was snacking on some peanuts. Paul told him that when his bowl of peanuts were gone, it would be time for him to go to bed also. A few minutes later Paul asked Rockwell if he was still eating them. Rock said yes, but had a smirk on his face. Paul told him to open his mouth. The peanuts were long gone and he was pretending to chew. He said, "I was trying to trick you guys!"
***Rockwell, Tessa and I were eating dinner and out of the blue Rockwell asked me, "Why are dads not very smart, only moms?"

Tessa
***Tessa has the cutest lisp right now (summer 2014) Whenever she says something is hers, she says "Tetha'th." Too cute! Also swimsuit = thwimthuit   (Summer 2015 she calls her swimsuit 'swimswuit.')
***Every time we put powder in Tessa's diaper she laughs and says, "Tickles my bum!"
***We were running through the sprinklers in our backyard and Tessa was running around the perimeter barely getting wet. She was laughing saying, "Water (Watee). Getting my bum!"
***Tessa calls Rockwell "Rock el." (Quite frequently!)
***When Tess wants something she says, "Me, my, mine!"
***Both the kids say 'noo-noo' for Noodle. Tessa loves Elmo. When she sees Mr. Noodle on Elmo's World she says, "Noo-noo!"
***When Tessa drops something she says, "Woopies!" (Woopsies)
***Tessa says 'Holy cowy!' and 'Oh my goshy!' when she sees something cool.
***When Tessa gets mad, her go-to insult is to say you're someone else. For quite a while, every night at dinner she would tell me I'm not Mama, I'm Rockwell. And Paul isn't Dad, he's Mama, etc. etc. One night she was extra upset and had gone through all of our name substitutions, and she pointed at Paul and said, "You're not Daddy, you're garbage!"
***I told the kids we needed to go to some stores, and they asked which ones. I said we were going to Hobby Lobby first. When we pulled into the parking lot, Tessa asked, "Is this Laffy Taffy?" I asked if she meant Hobby Lobby, and she just laughed and said, "Oh ya. Is this Hobby Lobby?"

Every Day Stuff

Tessa, Damon and I had fun taking pictures while we were waiting for Rockwell to get home from school.

We went to Sprouts and then were planning on going to Macey's too. But Damon pooped while we were in Sprouts. When I got him out of his car seat to change his diaper, there was poop all the way down to both feet. Apparently I forgot to put some extra clothes in the diaper bag last time I used them, so Damon had to ride home without any clothes. He was not happy about that! Luckily nothing was urgent at Macey's so I was more than happy to skip that store and head straight home.

 Such handsome boys!

Rockwell is so excited for the holiday season. He sat in his tent and made "presents" for all of us out of his blocks. You can see the Christmas lights on top of his tent, made out of fuzzy balls. And he listened to my Christmas Pandora station the whole time he was decorating and making presents.

Damon fed himself almost the whole time I was getting the kids ready for bed. He brought his knees up to his chest and propped the bottle up on one leg. It was quite helpful while getting all 3 kids ready for bed.

I love how much Rockwell and Tessa love Damon!

Damon started rolling from his back to his stomach on Saturday. We are all very proud of him.
Now we need him to learn to roll the other way. He doesn't love being on his stomach, but he rolls over every time he's on his back.

Rockwell was so funny riding his bike the other day. He rode the 2-wheeler for a while and then decided to do tricks on the motorcycle.

We love when Gramps is working in Orem! He and Rockwell both love chocolate milk, so he stops by with a special treat.

Today was National Ice Cream Day, so we went to Sonic for half price cones. I can't stand how messy and sticky they get eating ice cream cones, so we rarely get them. Rockwell and Tessa were sure excited!

I just love these kids of mine!

Around Our House Lately

I tried to let Paul have some time to work while the sun was still shining on Saturday. He stays up way too late working on homework way too often. There was a puppet festival at the library so I took the kids to that. They had popcorn during the shows and taught the kids how to use their hands to make it look like the puppets are talking.
You could make your own paper sack puppets and draw with chalk on the sidewalks going around the library. It was a fun little outing for us.
Paul and the kids had quite the wrestling match on the tramp the other night.
They were all pretending they were different animals and attacking each other. I was laughing hysterically at Tessa. She took this game so seriously. She would stalk around on the grass and then sneak up behind Paul and pounce on him with the most tiger/dog/cat/cheetah-like look on her face. She did not break character (of whatever animal she was at the time) even once.
There was a whole lot of screaming and growling and hissing, and Damon kept looking at them like they were crazy. :)
I asked Rockwell to play with Damon while I ran upstairs to get ready one morning. He came up to my room a couple minutes later and said, "Damon started to cry a bit and I thought he might be hot, so I opened his jammies." Haha!
Rockwell wanted me to take a picture of the tire marks he made on the sidewalk. This has been his bike of choice this week.
Tessa still loves the wiggle car.
Tessa and Rockwell both still just love having baby Damon around.
I do too! This is how I'm greeted every morning, after a solid 11-12 hours of sleep from this champ. Love him!!
Damon and Grandma got a nice nap together last week.
Rockwell and I went on a walk on Sunday and he came home with 15 new treasures for his collection. The most exciting find was acorns.
The kids have a new trick they've been working on lately. They can both walk up the slide without any hands or hesitation. Rockwell can walk down the same way, and Tessa is pretty close to being able to do it too. It's pretty impressive.
They love to talk over the fence to their friend Eden. It's fun to have a friend so close. If one of them wants to play they just open the back door and call each other's name.
Damon zonked out while I was helping Rockwell with homework. He was hanging off my shoulder, sound asleep.
Today while Rockwell was doing his homework Tessa kept telling him, "You need to do your homework Rockwell." And then switched to, "You're doing a great job buddy." She's giving him 2 thumbs up in this picture. :)
