Delta Meet

 Arete made some of the meets optional this season. We decided to sign up for 2 of the 3 optional meets, and decided not to do the Delta meet this time. As soon as the Wyoming meet was over though, Tessa asked if she could do the Delta meet. Her coaches said they could get her signed up still. Paul and I told her that we would be willing to let her, but we had some expectations: that even if she isn't going to make a 37, she still tries her best on every event. And that no matter what happens, she smiles and confidently salutes the judges after each event. (She's having a hard time keeping her own evaluation of her performance off her face. Haha) She said she can do those things, and so we told her coaches and they signed her up. I got home from Rocky Point at 12:30 am on Friday, and Tessa and I drove to Delta at 9:00 that morning. I was talking with Stacey and Staci and missed getting a picture of the team announcement. I thought this one of the all the girls moving the landing mat was fun though. :)

Arete started on vault and Tessa did really well!

She was really strong on bars too!

She looked really great on beam. Her artistry and rhythm were awesome.

She fell on her round-off, but she got right back up and finished strong.

Her last event was floor, and she looked awesome on this!!!

Her aerial was beautiful!!

She scored a 9.8!!!! We had a really good talk on the way home about the difference in her attitudes at the Wyoming meet and this meet. At both meets, her 3rd event was a disappointment. But at this meet, she didn't let that defeat her. Instead she gave her 4th event her all and absolutely crushed it!! It was a good reflection and lesson for her.

Tessa took 5th on vault with a 9.45

7th on bars with an 8.7

7th on beam with an 8.9

1st on floor with a 9.8

And 6th All-Around with a 36.85

This was a solid meet for Tessa. Way to go girl!!
