Backyard Swimming

I asked Rockwell if he wanted me to walk him into his classroom the 2nd day of school. He said he just wanted to walk in with Brig. So I dropped them off at the curb and they walked in by themselves, cute as can be. You can barely see him and his Mario backpack in this picture. I can't get over how grown up he is!
He doesn't want to tell me any specifics about his day right when he gets home, but luckily he will randomly tell me things throughout the afternoon. He told me that he made another friend on Thursday while he was sitting on the carpet. I asked what they did while they sat on the carpet and he said they listened to their teacher. I asked what she said and he said, "I don't know." I think he may have been a little more concerned with making a new friend than listening to Mrs. Farr. :)

I had another fun morning with these two cuties.

When Rockwell got home we decided to swim in the backyard, which is always one of our favorite things to do.

They spent a while washing mud off all their trucks and tractors.

They always come up with new ideas of what to do with the hose. Rockwell made a shower for Tessa in the playhouse.

Rockwell is an amazing kid. Tessa was finished swimming before Rockwell, so I was pushing her on the swing. When Rock decided he was finished, he emptied the pool and set it out to dry and then wound up the hose and put it back nice and tidy where it belongs. I didn't ask him to do it, he just took care of it on his own.

We finished off the afternoon with some swinging. It was a great day!

Stuffed Animals

Rockwell and Tessa both have stuffed animals that are their best buddies.

I think it is so cute to see them fall in love with their animals and carry them around everywhere and take such good care of them.

I really think they helped them sleep as babies and have brought them comfort in multiple situations.

We want Damon to have a best buddy stuffed animal too, so we introduced him to his giraffe. He was an instant fan.

Silly Face

I feel like Damon is starting to understand the whole 'silly face picture' concept. :)

Girls Night

I got to go out for drinks with my friends last weekend. We went to Fiiz, a drink shop very similar to Swig.

We hung out in Fiiz until they closed, then hung out on their patio furniture until their drive-in was closed, and then hung out in Al's car until we were so tired it hurt. I love that we never ever run out of things to talk about.
Just because it was such an event to get a picture of all 4 of us that we were happy with, I'm putting both of them on here! :)

Splash Pad

We met Carrie at a splash pad in Kaysville this week. Rockwell had a ton of fun with the 3 oldest boys.

Carrie and I were camped out on a blanket on the grass between the splash pad and the playground.  It was pretty funny to see the boys run full-speed from the splash pad to the park as soon as the water shut off. And then see them run full-speed the opposite direction as soon as they heard the water come back on again.

Tessa took her usual warm up time, but eventually started playing with Tanner. They were so cute to watch while they played together.

I'm glad we were able to spend the afternoon with the Call family!

Around Our House Lately

The other night Paul was talking to me and Damon stared at him listening for the whole story, which was a good 10 minutes. He seriously looked like he was totally interested in what Paul was talking about. :)

The kids are loving having gun fights in the basement right now. Rockwell looks super tough...
and Tessa looks super sweet...
but looks can be deceiving! She had him cornered and shot him over and over. :)

I love Sunday naps with my baby!

Rockwell wanted to learn to make his own sandwich.

Rockwell thought it was so fun to help our neighbor remove the sticky notes from her garage. They were pranked by their sister and brother-in-law who love the Oregon Ducks.

We had fun with chalk drawings.

I went into another room while Damon was laying on his back on his blanket today. Rockwell yelled, "Mom come here! You have to see this!" I came running, and found Damon like this. We were all so excited that he had rolled over. I snapped a few pictures while asking Rockwell if he helped him or if he did it on his own. Rock told me he had done it all by himself. A few minutes later I asked again if he did anything to help him turn over and he said all he had done was put his head on Damon's back to make sure he didn't roll back over onto his back when he was almost rolled onto his tummy. (Why he used his head to help him out...I have no idea!) So I'm not quite sure if Damon really rolled over on his own or not, but in case this was his first time, I have pictures. :)

This is what I get for not putting things away fast enough after shopping at Costco...a toilet paper tower.

Damon cuddled with me like this for an hour today. Wide awake the whole time, but just wanted to snuggle. Fine by me!

Rockwell is enjoying feeding Damon his bottles.

I got Tessa her own pair of scissors and she was so excited about it. The kids cut tickets out of construction paper for two days straight.

The kids had a picnic in the basement. Cute cute cute!
