Around Our House Lately

The kids have had fun practicing Rockwell's Rainbow Words lately. They've spelled them with letter rocks, sugar, magnets, and blocks.

Rockwell really wanted to leave all his words on the fridge to show Paul, but he ran out of letters with more words to spell. I told him I would take a picture of the words he had so far so he could take them down and spell the rest. He took his shirt right off and said he wanted to show Dad his muscles too. He is definitely his father's son!

Tessa made princess stairs again and got all dressed up as a princess. Rockwell called her to come do something with him and Tessa replied, "I can't come right now! I'm a princess! You 'nember?!" She was a princess the rest of the day and when we would call her Tessa she'd say, "You mean princess?"

Everyone is loving Tessa's bike she got for Christmas.

Paul's such a great dad.

Damon is getting braver with his exploring. He's got himself into a few situations like this where he's not sure how to get down.

Long hair with a hood problems...

Paul had an interview for an Assistant Principal position last week so Rockwell sent him a good luck picture before the interview. Gotta love applying and interviewing for your own position. :)

Damon's latest trick is clapping his hands. He loves when we get excited about him doing it.

Tessa hasn't let me braid her hair for months and months. For some reason this week she has wanted braids most days. She even woke me up at 6:45 just to ask if she could have a braid that day.

Damon has his tongue out like this 90% of the day.

Dinner has been a real challenge with this girl lately. This is the glare Paul got for a good half hour because he told her she needed to eat her toast. Oh Tess!

The kids were so excited when Gramps stopped by with their favorite treats. His drop-by's are paying off. Both kids run right up to him and talk now without any shyness.

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day we went over to Paul's school to ride bikes and play basketball. It was the perfect outing for a cold, snowy day. We all loved getting our energy out. The kids were blurs for the first half hour. They were so excited to be riding their bikes again.
I wish the second picture here was clear. Rockwell looks like he has some good form!
Tessa falls down a lot (like, a lot!), but I do think she's pretty coordinated too. She had some awesome tricks to show us on her bike. It will be fun to see what she becomes interested in as she grows up.
Damon loved getting rides from his brother and sister!

  1. I can't get over Rockwell's good look picture and him taking off his shirt and flexing for the other picture, hilarious! I also love the sugar idea, I'm going to copy that!
