The Worstest Day Ever

Rockwell's school had a Color Run on Saturday. We have been so excited for this since we heard about it. Rockwell had a fever Thursday and Friday, but it was gone Saturday morning and he said he felt fine. We went to his soccer game in the morning. It was pouring rain, so they only played for 5 minutes before everyone was miserable. We went to the school that evening for the run.

I could tell shortly after we started running that Rockwell wasn't feeling 100% still. He wanted to walk instead of run. That's not like him. Paul stayed at the school with Tessa and Damon, so Rockwell and I enjoyed a leisurely walk together. We were sprayed with chalk a few times throughout the run, and there was a color blast at the finish line. Once everyone had finished the race, we all got in the designated zone and threw our chalk packets in the air together.
This event was something Rockwell would normally love, but as soon as everyone started throwing chalk he broke down and started crying. He said he just wanted to go home. I felt so bad he wasn't feeling good and couldn't enjoy the day.

During breakfast the next morning Rockwell said, "That was the worstest day ever yesterday!"

Circus

Mrs. Farr does a circus at the end of the year for the parents to come watch. I was quite impressed with the production. All the kids did some tricks on the beam, and Rockwell was an acrobat and a seal. They made lion masks and showed us the tricks and dance Mrs. Farr had trained them to do. I love how good she makes each child feel about themselves.

The acrobats taking a bow.
Grandma Ham came to watch too. She came to our house for a bit before the show. No surprise, Tessa asked her to push her on the swing. :)

Around Our House

Tessa and Damon love playing with the cat door. I love Tessa's face in the 2nd picture!

Rockwell put on another party for Tessa, a few stuffed animals, and me in the basement. He had a dress code for the kids for this one, which was pajamas with a pair of pants on your head. He told me I got to choose what I wore. :) Tess was dressed appropriately, but changed into Super Girl mid-way through the party.
We had quite the feast before our dance party.

Damon is looking so grown up these days.

These two have a lot of fun together, even though they fight more often than ever. I love to hear them laughing together and getting along.

Brothers in matching basketball shorts is stinking cute!

I made the kids take a picture for my Mother's Day post. When taking pictures of 3 kids there's always a few that don't make the cut, but they are so good for other reasons. :)
This one is a good representation of each of them. Tessa is doing her own thing, interacting with the people around her. Damon's happy as can be. And Rockwell is making sure Damon's safe and that he's doing what I've asked him to do, while plainly wishing the photo shoot was over. Haha!
And this one was just too cute of Damon! He looks like such a big kid!!

Grandpa Ham Comes to Visit

Grandpa Ham came down and spent the evening with us a couple weeks ago. We were all so excited to have him come! The kids were playing in the backyard when he got there, so I got a few minutes to talk with him. The second the kids came inside and saw Grandpa, they both talked his ear off from that point on. :) Rockwell wanted to show him his new scooter, so he went outside with them while I finished making dinner. Tessa asked him to push her on the swing after dinner, so we headed back outside. The kids loved showing him all their tricks. Paul and I enjoyed getting time to visit with him.
Grandpa brought a couple books to read to the kids, including his favorite from when he was a kid, Five Pennies. Rockwell showed him how well he's reading now and read one of them to him. The kids absolutely loved spending time with Grandpa.

We know how busy Grandma and Grandpa Ham's lives are right now, so it meant a lot that Grandpa came down and spent all that time with us. We love you Grandpa!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was fabulous! Paul made it Mother's Weekend. I slept in as late as I wanted Saturday and Sunday. He cleaned the house and took care of meals both days. (I was so grateful to our bishop who canceled most of their meetings on Sunday.) Paul really made me feel valued, appreciated, and loved all weekend through how much effort he put into making the weekend special for me.
Grandma Clark gave the kids some flowers to make for me and an About My Mom book where they answered questions about me and drew pictures. I love those books! It's so fun to see what they answer about me and what their little minds think. Rockwell also gave me one of his treasure boxes with a beanie boo in it. He loves both of those things, so it was so sweet of him to give them to me. He hasn't even asked for them back yet. :)
I love being a mother! Absolutely love it. I feel so blessed to have the three amazing children I do. I hit the jackpot with these three. Each one of them is healthy, strong, smart, funny, sweet, capable, and special. I'm proud to be a mother. I'm proud to have sacrificed a ton to grow these three babies inside my body and give them life. That is no easy task! I'm proud to devote most my time to raising them, caring for their every need as babies, teaching them skills and knowledge to help them be successful  and happy in life. Being a mother is so challenging, but I very much believe that the difficult and challenging things in life are usually the things that are most worth it. I know these three are worth all the worry and sacrifice that comes with being their mother. They bring me happiness every day.

Outside

We love being outside when the weather is nice and warm. Rockwell was excited with his new scooter and said Tessa could have his old one. They both jumped on them and took off. I was quite impressed.

I'm so grateful for our yard where we can play and have so much fun together. The kids love Paul and me to just be outside with them and watch all their tricks.
