The Worstest Day Ever

Rockwell's school had a Color Run on Saturday. We have been so excited for this since we heard about it. Rockwell had a fever Thursday and Friday, but it was gone Saturday morning and he said he felt fine. We went to his soccer game in the morning. It was pouring rain, so they only played for 5 minutes before everyone was miserable. We went to the school that evening for the run.

I could tell shortly after we started running that Rockwell wasn't feeling 100% still. He wanted to walk instead of run. That's not like him. Paul stayed at the school with Tessa and Damon, so Rockwell and I enjoyed a leisurely walk together. We were sprayed with chalk a few times throughout the run, and there was a color blast at the finish line. Once everyone had finished the race, we all got in the designated zone and threw our chalk packets in the air together.
This event was something Rockwell would normally love, but as soon as everyone started throwing chalk he broke down and started crying. He said he just wanted to go home. I felt so bad he wasn't feeling good and couldn't enjoy the day.

During breakfast the next morning Rockwell said, "That was the worstest day ever yesterday!"

  1. I love those first two pictures and that last one is so sweet! It looks like a fun event, I'm sorry Rockwell didn't get to enjoy it.
