Rocky Point, Mexico

Matt & Lori have been renting a condo at Puerto Privada in Rocky Point, Mexico for a few months. They have been telling us how amazing it is there and said that if we ever wanted to go we should just let them know. Mel, Al, and I decided to take them up on it and make it a Siblings Trip. (We were bummed that Gary's tax deadline was during that time so he couldn't join us.) Matt & Lori are both so generous. It was so nice of them to let us spend a few days there. We ended up changing our plans around with Chris' funeral being that same weekend, but luckily Matt figured out a plan that would make it still work for us to get a few days in Rocky Point.

We flew into Mesa Wednesday night and spent some time at Matt & Lori's house. Elena is awesome at doing nails, and so I asked her to do mine. They were so pretty! We flew to Dallas Thursday and then flew back to Phoenix early Saturday morning. We drove straight from the airport to Mexico. It's about a 4 hour drive, and it was fun to visit, laugh, and sing along to country music while we drove. I've never seen the wall before, so that was pretty cool!

Matt stopped for some fresh tortillas in town. He bought a few bags, and we ate them every day. They were delicious!

We got to the condos and Lori had texted that we had to drop our bags and go straight out to the balcony.
The view off the balcony is amazing!
After we breathed in the ocean air and enjoyed the view (and a few tortillas) for a while, Mel and I got changed and headed down to the beach. Walking through this tunnel never got old!
We went up and joined Al and Matt at the pool and laid out for a while. We timed it so that we could watch the sun set while we ate dinner at Wrecked At The Reef.
This was such a cool restaurant!! There was a live band, the tables are right in the sand, and the food was delicious. I could have eaten the chips and salsa all night long! And bonus, the band was playing American country music. :)
Al, Mel and I walked over and looked at some souvenirs while we waited for our food.
The sunset was gorgeous. We felt no hurry to leave, and just hung out and enjoyed the views and the music for quite a while.
We had gotten up at 3:30 that morning in Dallas, which was 1:30 am Rocky Point time, so it felt like a really long day! Somehow we still had some energy that night and decided to play games. We played the same games every night we were there, and laughed our heads off every night. It was a blast!
