The kids have been asking to go hike Upper Falls in the snow again. We've gotten a lot of snow this year, so it was a great hike. We took a lot of pictures, but it was just so gorgeous up there!!
It's steep, so we needed a little break about halfway up.
I tried to get a cute picture of each of us. This was the best the pre-teen would give me. :)
We kept going and made it to the waterfall. I love it in the winter with half of it frozen. So beautiful!!
The kids loved eating the snow covered icicles.
We enjoyed all the beauty at the top for a while, made snow angels, and then headed back down.
There are some good areas to slide down the trail instead of walk down it, which is really fun. I loved hearing the kids chant, "Go Dad! Go Dad!" as he led the way on his bum. :)
Rockwell thought it was more fun to roll down instead of slide. Haha!
The kids tried to have a snowball fight at the bottom again, but the snow wouldn't pack at all. It was all powder. Everyone loved the hike though, and definitely want to go back and do it again before the break is over.
That's great that your children love that hike but it sure looks cold! I loved the pictures of the children eating the icicles and you saying that they were behind Paul and saying "go Dad go" when he was sliding down. It looks like a fun but cold hike! I'm glad they want to go again before the break ends.
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful up there! I can see why you took a lot of pictures. That is a great picture of you and Paul.
