Damon felt super sick the day after Halloween. He had a fever for about 24 hours along with a headache. It's always so sad to see your kids obviously not feel good. We all missed his smiles and laughs while he was sick.
Emilie and Matt came over for dinner and games one night. We always love having them around.
Damon and Tessa had their Primary Program and did such a great job saying their parts. They were asked to write their own parts about their favorite story from the Old Testament.
Here's what Damon chose:
"I like the story of Adam and Eve. They could have stayed in the Garden of Eden, but they chose to eat the fruit and leave the Garden so they could have a family and return to live with their Heavenly Parents. We can choose to do things that are hard because they will be worth it and help us become more like Jesus. Our families and Jesus and the Holy Ghost will help us as we obey God's commandments."
And here's what Tessa chose:
"I like the story of Esther. She had to be brave to go in and ask the king to save her people. I'm sure she felt afraid, but she fasted and trusted in the Lord. When scary or hard things happen in my life, I want to remember Esther and try to be brave and trust in the Lord too."
Paul took Rockwell and Tessa to a Brandon Mull book signing that the school district put on. They had such a great time there! They got a bunch of swag, and were able to sit in the front row and be the first in line to get their books signed. It pays to be the kids of a librarian at an event put on by your dad's librarian friends. :)
Damon and Tessa are so cute when they play together and pretend. We never know what they're going to look like when they come upstairs. :)
Damon has gotten two Shoutouts at school lately. Each one comes with a Cold Stone coupon so he loves getting free ice cream! The one from his teacher, Mrs Cooper, said: "Damon is such an amazing student! He is always finding ways to help me and his classmates. He is kind and caring to everyone, and always chooses to follow the rules and do the right thing!"
And the one from the lunch lady said: "Damon is a very nice student. He always reminds me of which classes go first to go to lunch. Thanks Damon for your good memory!"
We had a hot dog roast for dinner last night. There was a calm before a snowstorm, so it was really pleasant outside and we spent quite a bit of time out there.
Damon and Tessa sure looked cute in the picture and I'm so sorry that Damon got sick! That's cool that Rockwell and Tessa got to go to a book signing with Brandon Mull. I sure loved the parts that Damon and Tessa wrote for the primary sacrament meeting program! They sure have a great understanding of the scriptures! We sure loved being there to hear them!
ReplyDeleteDamon's shout outs were so impressive and I'm glad he gets ice cream when he gets them!
