Around Our House

Paul spoiled me real good for Mother's Day this year. The week before we had been talking about taking Damon's birthday pictures. I said I wanted to try to use the happy birthday sign I had made him 2 years before. He didn't remember the sign at all, so of course I made jokes about all the creativity, time, and effort I had put into making it and how he clearly didn't appreciate it. :) I slept in Sunday morning and when I came downstairs I had a really good laugh when I saw that he had made a sign for me with tons and tons of my favorite treats. Thank you Paul for all the creativity, time, and effort you put into making that sign for me. I will remember and appreciate it forever. ;) Haha! I love that Paul still makes me laugh just as much as he did 12 years ago.

It was a great and relaxing Mother's Day spent with Paul and the kids. 

When we went to the school to pick out flowers for Grandma Ham for mother's day, the animal science teacher had baby quail that had just hatched. The kids loved seeing them.

Damon was so proud of himself the other day for getting dressed all by himself. He would not let me turn his shirt around. So we went out shopping like this. :)

  

The life skills class decorated Paul's office door to say goodbye to him. He's really going to miss those kids.

Paul brought home Timpanogos sunglasses for the whole family. Go T-wolves!

Rockwell did awesome at his track meet last week! He learned a lot at his last meet about how much it slows you down if you look into the stands and look for your friends while running a race. He was very focused this time. He jumped 7 inches further in the standing long jump, making it 5 ft 6 inches. He took first in the 50m and the 100m. I was very proud of him for trying much harder this time.

He had fun playing with Wyatt, Brig, and Jaden in between events.

We went on Tessa's last field trip to Nielson's Grove. We had a picnic, fed the ducks, and played on the playground. Tessa and Elliott loved all the baby ducks.

My kids seriously can't just do stuff the way you're supposed to do it. Tessa is throwing bread to the ducks backward. Of course. :)


Rockwell had his last soccer game in Lindon last weekend. He played great this season, but it was sure different than the Provo league. The field felt really small and it was weird to not have goalies. He loved playing though, and I loved watching him.

  
  

Rockwell made a habitat display and wrote a report for an eyelash viper.

He did awesome on this assignment. He researched the snake on the internet and took notes about what he learned. Then he wrote his report in complete sentences and typed it up all on his own. We made the habitat together, and he didn't complain through the whole process. When everything was finished, he told Paul and me that he felt really proud of himself. I loved hearing that. I also loved what he wrote by his name at the bottom of his report. Haha!


Wyatt came home with us after one of their soccer games and played for the afternoon. They had fun playing t-ball, frisbee, riding bikes, and widdling some wood from a tree stump Paul chopped up.
