This & That

Rockwell had a band concert and they sounded awesome.

I went and read with Tessa and Damon at their Reading Around the Ridge day.

Tessa watched Sadie for a few days and just loved it.

Rockwell's volleyball team, Ice, played in the semi-finals. It was such an intense game! Team Ice just was not in their groove at first, and were down by 17 points. They finally got their energy and had a crazy comeback, but lost the match 24-25. Luckily they won the next two matches though. Rockwell played so well at the net! It was fun to come home and watch the videos and hear a parent near us say, "We need to leave Rockwell right there for the rest of the game!" It was such a fun game to watch!
Paul was in Reno during the final game the next week and Tessa had a gymnastics meet at the same time as the game. I was bummed they were at the same time, I hate having to miss any of my kids' stuff! I figured Tessa needed me more at the meet, so Aubrey took Rockwell to the game. Al and Wyatt went and watched the game, which was so nice of them. It sounds like it was another super intense game with a lot of back and forth. Ice lost in 3 matches and took home the silver medals. Rockwell had so much fun learning volleyball, and we sure enjoyed watching him!

Rockwell decided to try out for the freshman volleyball team at Timpanogos High School. This is the first year men's volleyball is being played as a high school sport. Aubrey is coaching and strongly encouraged Rockwell to try out. :) He originally planned on not trying out since there would be conflicts with track season, but after a couple more volleyball games with Ice, he decided he really wanted to make both work. He made the B team, and is loving it so far!! He has a ton of friends on the team, and loves his coaches. It was so crazy to me when he came home with a Timpanogos jersey. We've talked about him being a T-Wolf for his whole life, and now he's wearing a T-Wolf jersey. Crazy!

I was able to help with Battle of the Books at Northridge. Damon has worked so hard for this and was so excited to compete with his team! Sadly his team never came to the room Aubrey and I were helping in so I didn't get to see him in action. But he said they did really well and had a lot of fun.

We had a couple days off school for teacher work days. Our young women class wanted to do a lip sync for our ward talent show. Meg arranged for everyone to go practice during the days off school. We knew we were going to be in St. George during the talent show, but Tessa said she wanted to go just to learn it and hang out with her friends. It worked out perfectly because Afton couldn't be there the first day, so Tessa was her place holder. And then she taught Afton the moves on the second day.

Paul had a good time in Reno for the CADA conference.
Everyone who went from his school came home with some ideas they're excited to implement so Paul felt like it was a success for sure.

  1. We loved watching Rockwell, he played awesome! I love seeing him in his T-Wolf jersey. That is so fun that Damon did battle of the books. Caitlyn did that and loved it.
