Rockwell had his first high school cross country meet. It was Pre-Region, and they had a Rookie race and an Open race. The Rookie race was for anyone who has not run a high school race before. So it was mostly freshman and sophomores, but there were some juniors and seniors as well. They run a 5k at high school meets.
He did so great! He finished in 19:58.5 and took 3rd place!! He was very happy with finishing 3rd behind Grant and a senior. :)
His next meet was the Timpanogos Invitational. This meet was huge! There were 40 schools from 4 different states in his session, and 386 boys in his race. This time his race was just freshman and sophomore boys.
He took 41st place, and finished in 18:42.9. He was thrilled to PR over a minute faster than last race!!
It was such a good finish too. There was a boy from Manti that was right there with him on the last stretch, but Rockwell kicked it and crossed the line before him. Brother Taylor came to support Rockwell and was on the other side of the finish line recording him cross it. He took screenshots and sent them to us and they are awesome!
Those times are amazing! Those pictures are great, that was a tight finish.
