Barth/Robbins Reunion

Marlene turned 70 this year, and she wanted a big family reunion to celebrate. The whole family went to Island Park, Idaho and stayed in Scott's dad's cabin. It was so nice of him to let us use the cabin, and it was a great space to fit such a large group. We picked Chad up from Brent & Kristene's on the way up, and got to Island Park Monday afternoon.

We took family pictures that evening. I'll have to post those when we get them. Paul found a cross body purse in the grass and wore it like a fanny pack until whoever it belonged to noticed he was wearing it. Turns out it was Marlene's and she loved all the selfies Paul and others had taken on her phone while he was wearing her bag. :)
Everyone was trying to keep it happy and funny and light during pictures so we could keep the kids happy. There were funny videos and random dancing and lots of laughing at the awkward things the photographer asked people to do when it was their turn. Haha!
The kids were sure excited to see their cousins! And Liam was sure excited to see Tessa again! He is incredibly shy around everyone except his parents...and Tessa and Brylie. He won't talk to anyone, but he talks to Tessa. She absolutely loves it!
We shared a room with Carrie & Levi, and the kids loved all the stuffed bears in the room and the building blocks on the top bunk bed.
There were so many fun things to do there. The kids loved playing cross net, spike ball, fuseball, air hockey, riding 4-wheelers, card games, and just hanging with their cousins.
Rockwell, Hayden, and Topher took the 4-wheelers out for a long ride. Paul showed Rockwell how to drive it and had him practice a bit since he hasn't driven one before.
He loved the ride with Hayden and Topher!
Asher is such a funny kid!! He showed Paul all of his drawings (which are amazing for a 4 year old!) and talked his ear off for about an hour one morning. It was so cute!
We went to a lake on Tuesday and used Scott's dad's kayaks and tubes. The kids loved that! As soon as we got to the water, all the boys lined up and started skipping rocks. It seems to be an automatic thing for boys and water! :)
I enjoyed visiting with the family and reading my book on the grass. Once I saw how many leeches were in the water, I wasn't interested in getting in. It didn't stop the kids though.
Adria made a jeopardy-style game about Marmie that the whole family played. It was fun to get to know some interesting facts and stories about her.
We brought Chad and Whitney home with us on Wednesday. We haven't seen Whitney since she was a small child, and now she's at BYU. It was fun to get to know her. Tessa asked her if she would be her sister, and Whitney said she'd love to since she's never had a sister either! :) She's a really cool girl. We stopped for some lunch at Burger King, but tried to hurry home since we all had church activities going on that afternoon. It was a great family reunion!!
