Everyday Adventures

Mother's Day was the same day as Damon's birthday this year. It was fun to share a special day with him. I sure love love love these kids and being their mom!! It brings me purpose and fulfillment and joy.

The kids got me my favorite treats, and Paul got me a puzzle board and a really cute mug.

I wanted to spend some time with my mom for Mother's Day. We went shopping at Deseret Book for her to pick out a book, got some lunch at Panda Express, and got Frosty's for a treat. It was so fun to spend the day with her!

Rockwell was excited for summer break, and Tessa and Damon were sad. Rockwell had been so busy and active for a few months straight, and so he crashed and got a good long nap in on his last day of school. (He decided not to go on Friday, so he finished up on Thursday.)
They had their track party and teachers v. students track meet the last week of school. He was sure sad the season was over.
He was really hoping to get the MVP award for sprinters this year, and he got it!! He was very excited about that! His relay team also got their ribbons from Alpine Days.

Tessa and Damon loved 5th and 3rd grade and were sad to say goodbye to their teachers and friends for the summer.
Mrs Murdock shared some cute pics of Damon at school.
On their last day of school, we brought Emily home with us, had some lunch, and then headed over to the Party in the Park that Aubrey puts on every year. The teenagers played volleyball the whole time, Damon and his friends played 9-square and climbed trees, Tessa and her friends rollerbladed, and I got to sit and visit with my friends. They all love the water balloon launcher, even though it was not warm at all this year. :) It was a great way to party on the last day of school.

Audrey, Emily, and I went to a showing of The Princess Bride and Q&A with Cary Elwes at the Capitol Theatre.
The Princess Bride has been Audrey and my favorite movie since we were in elementary school. We can't count the number of times we have watched it together, and we can quote every line. It was fun to watch it with so many other super fans and to hear Wesley himself share funny stories from filming.
It started to absolutely pour as we were walking to find somewhere to eat before the show. Luckily we were right by a restaurant and so we ran inside and that made our decision of where to eat very easy. Haha!

That same night Paul and I went to see May We All at Hale Center Theatre. Paul got me these tickets for my birthday and I've been looking forward to it for months. It was so good! We loved how they made the country music fit right into the storyline.
