Regionals Meet

 The Regionals meet was in Reno this year. We had planned to all go as a family, but some work came up that Paul needed to be around for. When Rockwell heard that Paul was staying home, he decided he wanted to as well. Damon still wanted to go, so the three of us drove out to Reno.

I turned around after filling up with gas and Tessa was in the drivers seat. Haha.

We walked over to a restaurant and got some dinner after getting settled in our hotel, and then went to bed so we could be up and ready for the meet the next morning.

Tessa had a really great meet!! The competition at Regionals is much stronger with teams from the whole southwestern region of the US there. But she held her own for sure!! She scored 9.65 on beam.

9.575 on floor

9.3 on vault. Her vault looked so good! I felt like the judges on vault were very stiff. All the Arete parents were a little frustrated with their daughter's score on vault. 

She nailed the landing!! Not even a little stumble.

9.15 on bars. She didn't have any falls and so she was hoping for a higher score. This was a little disappointing for her.

She placed 3rd on vault

3rd on beam

2nd on floor

4th all-around with a score of 37.675!!

Tessa was the only Arete gymnast to place on every event. It was a very solid meet for her!

The kids wanted to swim so we went back to our hotel. There was an 11-year old girls basketball team staying there too and they invited Tessa and Damon to play games with them in the pool. They had a blast for hours with their new friends. :)

We walked to dinner again and then ate treats in bed while we watched tv that night. Damon was very happy he chose to come on the trip! He thought swimming and eating treats in bed was the best thing ever!!
