Kauai Day 10

We love this lookout over Hanalei Bay!

The kids wanted to surf again so we went back to Hanalei Surf and rented boards. Only 2 could fit on our car, so we decided to rent paddle boards too and have Rockwell and I paddle those down the river and meet Paul, Tessa and Damon on the beach. That way we'd have two surfboards and two paddle boards for the whole day.
It was fun to paddle down the river out to the ocean with Rockwell. We got the hang of paddling on the waves and were actually able to ride a few of the waves in to shore on the paddle boards. It helped that it was a super calm wave day. :)

Tessa and Damon had fun surfing. The water was calm, so they had a lot of wait time between waves. It definitely wasn't as good of waves as the day we did our lesson, but they enjoyed it still.
During one of the wait times, Tessa was even able to do a beautiful handstand on her surf board. That is not easy!!!
We tried the taco truck for lunch. It wasn't amazing, but it filled us up since we didn't want to leave our boards at the beach to drive somewhere for lunch. We've always wondered if the food was good there. Now we know. :)
There were seriously so many waterfalls in the mountains all week. It was so beautiful!
Damon took a turn on the paddle board for a while. Then he wanted to get back to surfing.
It felt long to paddle back up the river at the end of the day, but Rockwell and I made it. There were two sea turtles swimming in the river, which was really cool!
